Alan Frew was born in Coatbridge, Scotland, where he lived for most of his child and adolescent life. At age 13, he started to realize his true love for music when he received a guitar from his parents. Shortly after Alan's sixteenth birthday, Hugh and Gracie Frew packed up their family and moved them to Canada and a small community north of Toronto, called Newmarket. It is here where Alan began his musical journey that would lead him around the globe!

During his second year of medical school, Alan was approached by a local group of musicians, whose desire was to produce him as their lead vocalist. It was at this point, that Frew uttered the most poignant yet utterly useless statement that he ever made; "Okay, I will join the band, but mark my words, I will never go on the road!" In the summer of 1985 this new band Tokyo decided to change it's name to Glass Tiger and as they say; "The Legend was Born."

Alan Frew is a five time Juno Award winner and a Grammy nominee. A twenty year veteran of the Canadian Music Industry, this charismatic vocalist, with a truly captivating style is the voice internationally renowned recording group, Glass Tiger and has sold over 3,000,000 cd's, albums, and cassettes world wide!

As a songwriter, Frew has written numerous top ten hits with several of them having the distinction of reaching the chart topping #1 position. "Someday", "So Blind", "I'm Still Searching" and "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" have all reached this plateau. Alan is the recipient of three Canadian Classic Awards for songs each being played in excess of 300,000 air plays on Canadian radio.

Still one of the most recognized Canadian celebrities, he has toured and performed over the years with the likes of Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Julian Lennon, Journey, Roxette, Cheap Trick, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Huey Lewis and Fleetwood Mac. On the Canadian front he maintains relationships and friendships with many top artists including Tom Cochrane, Roch Voisine, Barenaked Ladies, Alannah Myles, Dan Hill and Marc Jordan, and many others.

After the breakup of Glass Tiger, he teamed up with producer John Jones, musical legends Mick Fleetwood, and Mickey Dolenz and released his first solo effort entitled "Hold On", which produced such hits as "So Blind" and "Hold On".

Alan's next project "Wonderland" was released in the fall of 2000 to rave reviews and has yielded the single "Lipstick" and his most recent hit "All I Ever Wanted".

Most recently Alan has signed an agreement with the Canwest Global Network to star in a weekly television show called "Road Stories with Alan Frew". The show is an insightful, caring, thought provoking, musical journey into the minds, lives and songs of some of music's most interesting performers; told by musicians to a musician, as only they can. Road Stories airs each Sunday evening on Global's Hamilton station CH Television.

Alan, who now resides in Toronto, tours regularly giving his fans everywhere, the music and memories that they have come to expect from this true Candian legend!
